Why newborns ride flat
Young babies lack the head control for long stretches in an inclined seat, and lying flat supports both breathing and spinal development. A carry cot delivers that on the move: firm flat base, breathable padded sides, and a mattress that fits snugly edge to edge. Most babies use one until around six months, or until they can push up or roll — at which point the stroller seat takes over.
Safe use, on and off the pram
Always click-check the cot's attachment to the chassis before rolling, and use the apron and hood rather than draping blankets over the opening — airflow matters.
